Dublin to London

We just jumped on another plane and arrived in London this afternoon (Thursday 3:30 local time). London seems to be a much bigger city that Dublin. Our second day in dublin consisted of some more walking around in the rain and a very nice tour of the Guinness Brewery. We got the student discount for 11 euro, which was a pretty good deal since you got a free Guinness at the end. The tour ended on top of the factory with a 360 degree view of Dublin. It was pretty nice. For lunch both days in Dublin we had Guinness.

We had 5 french kids in our room the last night in Dublin, and it was a lot better than the other smelly people we had the previous night. they spoke very little English and all we could say is "ja mapelle Clint and Steve." That got us pretty much nowhere with them.

We went to the Temple Bar District that night which was a really good time. There was an acoustic performance by some guy and he was really good. Clint was wearing his Sox hat and it actually got us to meet some people from Boston. We joined forces and got the singer to sing "Sweet Caroline" and we were pretty much the only ones that knew the words. Everyone loved the "so good, so good" and "oh, oh, ohh" part. At the end of the night we went back and slipped into a coma so we could wake up bright and early to head to the airport.

Our hostel in London is much nicer than Dublin, although much farther away from all the sights. When we got off the plane into london we had to take a train. We exchanged some USD for some GBP (Pounds). We handed the guy $40 and he gave us 17.24GBP. I felt horrible, but to make it worse, we went to pay for the train ride and the guy said 16.90 please. WHAT! It was a half our ride, it was nice, but not worth $40. Once we got off the train we walked to our hostel, which was a little bit of a hike, but with the help of some people.... like 20.. we made it. The rooms are much nicer and we have 2 female Austrian roommates who are about our age, they are nice and rather funny. Tommorrow is going to be a big day. We plan on taking the "tube" (subway) around town to buckingham palace, the eye, westminster abbey, big ben, picadilly circus and some other I'm sure.

We have uploaded all of our photos to webshots.
